An annual initiative celebrating female professionals in the architecture and design world
Every March, CBT Architects ‘ internal Women in Design (WiD) Council hosts a monthlong, firmwide event that honors and encourages the professional accomplishments of women in the field. 2024’s theme, Changemakers in Our Environment, explored how female designers define and shape their environments.
As one of CBT’s in-house graphic designers and a member of WiD, I helped create the initiative’s visual identity and all assets—from a physical installation to digital graphics.

As designers, we hold the ability to make and shape environments. In 2024, CBT Women in Design (WiD) is exploring this superpower.
The environments we create comprises the world we all live in. But how do we define 'environment'? Does our definition change based on context, cultural understanding, and/or our perceived agency to make an impact? How can we use all our senses to perceive and affect the hidden elements of our environment? By impacting both the tangible and intangible elements of our day-to-day environments, we proactively shape our world.

Exhibition and Installation
The exhibit showcased firm work that actively shape their environments, from Boston and beyond. By highlighting a motley of exterior, interior, and urban design projects, it challenged viewers’ perspective on how they define “environment”. The divider installation adds a layer to challenging perspective—from some angles, only text can be read while other angles revealed a composition of CBT projects.
The exhibition also featured a set of nine posters, incorporating firm-specific statistics of women in the office as well as profiles of several CBT designers and the projects they have worked on.
Email Graphics and Event Programming
Along with designing the month’s graphics, I also organized two roundtable events with industry professionals in production design and sustainability, moderating the former. Corresponding event email graphics were also sent out, encouraging all CBT employees to attend.
Changemakers In Our Environment was an exhibition and celebration at CBT Architects in Boston’s Charlestown throughout March 2024, in honor of Women’s History Month.
